With the development of globalization, China is playing an increasingly important role in the stage of the world. The successful hosting of the2008Beijing Olympic Games and2010Shanghai World Expo can reflect the international status of China. At the same time, with the opening up of China, foreigners have a deeper understanding of China and have been deeply attracted by the traditional Chinese culture. As a result, culture-loaded words are used more and more frequently in international communication. Culture-loaded words reflect the history, the custom, the emotion, the tradition of a country, so the translation of culture-loaded words can not only affect the quality of the translation, but also influence the image of China in the world. In this case, the translation of culture-loaded words is of great importance.Due to the different culture phenomena of different countries, the translation of culture-loaded words remains a great difficulty for many translators. Therefore, it is really urgent for us to study it from different perspectives.According to Eugene Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory, I intend to analyze the different translation strategies of cultural-loaded words taken from some versions of This is Beijing, such as transliteration, literal translation, liberal translation and so on.
