Study On The Translation Standards And Methods Of Xin Jiang Culturally-loaded Words

In recent years, great progress was made in the report of Xinjiang propaganda Chinese-English translation, but there are rare researches of English translation of Xinjiang culturally- loaded words, and most of the researchers are college teachers. This report aims to discuss the current situation of Xinjiang culturally- loaded words English translation and answer the two questions: First, among different English translations of a Chinese word, which one is the best to realize the external propaganda of characteristic culture of Xinjiang? Second, which kind of translation strategies and translation methods are more effective for the external propaganda of characteristic culture of Xinjiang?The research objects are some typical C hinese words which have cultural connotations, and collect, classify as well as analysis some Xinjiang culturally- loaded words.This report indicates: among different English translations of a Chinese word, the best one to realize the external propaganda must meet two demands— the English translation must be loyal to the lexeme of the C hinese words and be easy to understand accept for the readers. Thus, the report puts forward the standards of English translation: principle of semantic faithful and readers` acceptability. The two enable the English translation to convey information loyally, have the readers` accept easily and publicize effectively. This report also summarize some translation methods—combination of transliteration and free translation, borrowing and omitting. The application of the three methods is conductive to realize the cross-culture communication and promote the external propa ganda of characteristic culture of Xinjiang.Moreover, the report summarized a vocabulary list of Xinjiang culturally- loaded words to cover the shortage of the quantity of research objectives.
