Christianity is one of the three major religions in the world, and it is also animportant part of western civilization. Christian culture of multiple attributes haspenetrated into all aspects of western life. Hymns music is the form of Christian musicproperty. After the opium war, with the imperialist aggressive power growing againstChina, hymns music has widely spread as one of slavery indoctrination tools. With thedevelopment of the modern economic society, the cultural communication between Chinaand western world is flourishing. What’s more, Christian hymns are also graduallyproducing the localization characteristics in China.Summing up and analyzing the existing literature, refine the historical facts of ancient,modern and contemporary era respectively, then, summarize the complete history ofChristian hymns’ transmission in China. For the art of hymns music, main research statesthree aspects of theories, styles and current situation of hymns music of localizationthrough the field investigation into Christian church choirs in Qinhuangdao.In terms of music theories, viewing the macro process of Christian hymns’localization in China, analyze the diversity of lyrics, melody and notation, and the nationalcharacteristic of harmony; Analyze the modern change of thinking modes performing inChinese and western music, which is namely the comparison between microscopicanalysis, vertical and three-dimensional logic belongs to western music and that of macrograsp and horizontal lines belongs to China, and analyze both of fusion in localizationhymns. From the viewpoint of the primary cause of contemporary cultural connotation andthe function and influence of differential thinking modes, analyze the contemporaryinterpretation for social connotation in localization hymns. Analyze the aestheticorientation of localization hymns via the comparison between Chinese and western music.For the styles of music, from the aspects of modes, rhythm, musical instruments andlyrics, understand the tradition of western hymns fully, in order to provide help for furtherresearch.As to the present situation of development, its models and history are reflected in the development process of modern Christian hymns in China, and it promotes thedevelopment of Chinese music. By extracting more essence from western music toChinese traditional music, promote the better development of national music.
