The Study Of Fuzhou Christian Music And Hymns

Hymn is an important part of Christianity. In different times of the development of Christianity, the forms of Christian music are also different. Along with the introduction of Christianity into China, the psalms got into China. Fujian province possesses the particular status in the history of Chinese Christianity. During the 1920' s, some Fuzhou Christians founded The Little Flock, and have had impacts on Chinese Christianity. This paper summarizes the history of Hymns of Christianity and Chinese Christianity. Then takes the Hymns of The Little Flock as the example to explore its characteristics and the formation reasons. Besides, this paper introduces Watchman Nee who was one of the founders of The Little Flock and his poetry. So to introduce the characteristics of The Little Flock which was always neglected, and deeperly explore the status of the Hymns' translation and edition in Sino-foreign Cultural Exchange history.
