Cultural Information Design Research Based On Typology Theory

In this society with information explosion, how to obtain valuable information efficiently is becoming increasingly important. This situation requires the designer to turn to focus on the field of visual information design. Visual information design is based on various design methods, such as layout techniques, graphics creation, etc. It will change boring data information to visual expression, which is lively and easy to understand. It can also make the information received more effectively and eliminate information overload problems.In this paper,"typology" is introduced and is used as a tool for visual design, in hence to research how to enhance the efficiency of visual information design. By figuring out typology theory and its design methods, we sum up the general method of visual information design, combining with the demand of visual information design, i. Determine the information "prototype", ii. Build the information hierarchy, iii. Optimize the visual element. This method can be applied on both information collection and final design.On the basis of theoretical research, we select ancient Chinese pagoda shape classification as the theme, and make visual information design for it. Using the general method of typology summarization, we make classification, filtering, extraction and creation on relative information, and finally draw the evolution tree of ancient Chinese pagoda. Experiments prove that our design is more efficient for information grabbing than traditional pagoda classification, which is much help for those who want to understand ancient Chinese pagoda shape information quickly.
