In this dissertation,the author discusses the negation of Tujia language. Thenegation of this language is comprehensively and systematically decribed, coveringthe phonetic features,grammar and semantics. Besides, the author compares the thesouthern dialect to the northern dialect, and compares the negation of Tujia languagewith the negation of Tibeto-Burman language.The negation of northern dialect has three main categories,including normalnegation,existential negation and prohibition negation. Phonologically,these negationshave a common t-initial;Grammatically,the nagation has verious grammer styles,suchas alternating aspirated and unaspirated initials to differ the subjective and objectivenegation and the different tense of the negation; the negation of northern dialect hasaspects,people can use particles and postfixs to express the perfective aspect or thefuture aspect; changing the position of the negative sign can express prohibitionnegation. All of these grammatical changes can achieve by using particle.Besides of the synchronic description of the negation of Tujia language, thisdissertation compares the negation of Tujia language with the negation ofTibeto-Burman language to discuss the historical evolution of the negation of Tujialanguage.
