A Research Into The Relation Between City Sculpture And City Space Form

With the acceleration of national economic and cultural development, citysculptures as the carrier of culture related to city in city construction, more and more getthe attention of the people, Xi’an as an ancient cultural capital, under cutural thecircumstances of city sculpture rise, how they embody the ancient capital’s inheritanceand development, how to balance land tension and cultural ecological fragity,whichhave become the focus problem of the city sculpture planning. Thus this paper triesfrom the aspect of city sculpture and city space form, based on the study of the theory ofthe city sculpture and city space form, combined with the North and South Streetsculpture planning case using the logical thinking from individuality findingcommonness, tries to explore the North-South Street city sculpture planning combiningwith city space form’s universal theory, so as to promote the development of Xi ’ansculpture planning rationalization.This paper divides three parts to discuss the relation between city sculptureplanning and city space form: The first part has discussed theory foundations of citysculpture, city space form and city sculpture planning. The second part combining Xi’anNorth-South Street sculptural practical case projects has from different level discussedthe relation between city sculpture and city space form. The third part based on cityconstruction developing, accourding to city construction’s muti-function demands ofcity space form, causing the necessary trend of modern technology combining citysculptural space form, taking examples has discussed modern technology combiningcity space form’s design schemes. The author in field investigation and research, found that due to Xi’an economyrapid developing, North and South Street commecial buildings increase to expose theland tension, humanistic ecology, natural ecology being weak, this paper mainlydiscusses the ideas and measures to solve these contradictions:1, sculpture combiningarchitecture to inherit and carry forward for thousands of years of Chinese sculpture andarchitecture of the way of the combination of science, technology and art.2, efficientuse of street corner space and street greening combined with sculpture.3, under the newmode of urban construction and development, in the limited space to develop modernscience and technology, clean energy. combining city sculptures.
