Waiting For Godot’s Accept And Research In China

Waiting for Godot is made on behalf of the Irish playwright Samuel Beckett and also as a representative of the Theatre of the Absurd. There are numerous research articles since entering China in 1962. This paper analyzes Waiting for Godot ’s accept and research in China from the perspective of time, which will be divided into three stages:The first stage is from the 1960 s to the "Cultural Revolution", which is the critical introducing period.The second stage is from the "Cultural Revolution" to the 1980 s and 1990 s, the period of the rise of China to an "absurd fever", is the Waiting for Godot attitude transition period.The third stage is the period of diversified research which since the 2000, and scholars make new research and interpretation from different theoretical perspectives to Waiting for Godot.Finally, the paper argues, Waiting for Godot Accept and research in China is closely linked with China’s political and cultural. since the twenty-first century, research about Waiting for Godot made tremendous progress by new theory,which is new direction on research on Waiting for Godot,and should be encouraged and continue to develop.
