Chinese revolutionary historical films are the description of Chinese Revolutionary History and the representative works of “The Red Classics”. According to the description of the origin of revolution, the legends of hero and the final success, the films fully affirm the historical meaning and the legality of modern country by revolutionary means and have a further description of female image played in the revolutionary process and the role of female in the films. The revolutionary films mainly portray the male heroes as the main characters, while the females are only the company and subsidiary. Although the females appear in the film, they were integrated and specified by the male discourse system of revolutionary system, the real women become the real discourse absentee. “War lets the women go away”, the theme of revolutionary films in flaunts male charm, shaping the image of a hero, while another, a variety of women’s image as an indispensable element of Films.This paper focuses on the analysis of female images in the revolutionary films using feminist perspective and it gives the detailed description of tragic women and their hardships. The essence of the Chinese feudal society is male-dominated society, therefore, when the theory of “Feminism” came into China, the films have brought the “Feminism” into the works of films and aroused the drastic argument. Films present the main four kinds of female model analysis, such as the family female, the mother of revolution, the revolutionary heroine, and knowledge of women, these four women showed the evolution and changes of themselves in revolutionary films. In addition, they also explain the internal and external reasons of these changes. The revolutionary women in the films are the outcome of specific historical period and their images have the deep meaning in Chinese Film History. The changes of female social status reflect the development of social essence. We all know traditional female narrative is the product of feudal male-dominated society, but the images of revolutionary films endow the new era and politic significance. While in fact, the females are also the sacrificial lamb of male-dominated society. In the special period, the image of the revolutionary women played discursive construction of dominating ideology and the revolutionary female images created in the film are the symbol of the whole nationality and the whole class, but also the personal representative of their gender and their own narration. In reality, Chinese revolutionary films don’t have the real film to describe the female and their own value of female individual. The reason to select the revolutionary woman as a research object is because the particularity of women in the war time and the relative to men’s status of “otherness” and their own specificity. Although the new Chinese women got the class liberation, the real liberation of personality didn’t come into that time. Finally, we know the liberation and the awakening of women is a hard process, the women who want to become an independent one, their own must have an active behavior,ideology,the improvement of the status and self-value, the willingness to free-living, at the same time, only with the recognition and the affirm of women themselves can walk to the road of awakening and liberation.
