As the one of the most representative philosophers in the 20th century, Jean-Paul Satre’s views, especially his existential philosophies, had made widespread effects in the field of the philosophy research. Also, the impact of existential philosophies slowly infiltrated into literature, drama, film, painting, music, et al. Our group, based on the Satre’s existential philosophies, creates the micro film of "We are born to be lonely". The idea of film is from the real life experiences to reflect the young ’s’ fickle and empty life state. This paper, based on the Satre’s study of dramatical roles’ characteristics and the micro film’s real contents, intends to interpret deeply in the reflection of Satre’s ideas in our film and the effects of the stage space design. The emphasis of this study is the way how roles’ figures and behaviors embody the existentialism:existence is precedes essence and freedom theory. The main contents of Satre’s freedom view are freedom, choice and responsibility. By analyzing the characters, we attempt to express our main points through interpreting the reflection of the existentialism in the film and the impact of the model of the figures. This study contains four chapters. The first part explains the importance of the study, the current state of the study worldwide and the focal as well as the difficult points. The second part briefly states Satre’s existentialism, that is "existence is precedes essence" and "freedom of choice". The third part discusses the main characteristics of Satre’s dramatical roles, which includes the effects of the main characteristics and stage space design. The last part is based on our group’s micro film. The fourth chapter analyzes the reflection of existentialism in our film’s roles, which can be observed in the thinking of figure’s identity choice, accessing cues of characters’ behaviors and more detailed analysis of the primary characters.
