<<Book of Han: Annals of Geography>>, the first masterpiece named by geography in china, has created a national geography pioneer. More than 300 rivers have been recorded in this book and include 60 rivers belonged to Yellow River drainage. The name of headwaters and these places have been documented. The book fully reflects the geographical features of Han dynasty. As time goes by, both the name of river, birthplace and afflux have been changed, especially in the lower reaches of the Yellow River for a few times of big rechanneling, so, many original rivers have been lost. To the main branches of Yellow River Drainage written by Book ofHan, this paper changed the order in Book of Han which sorted by administrative divisions to drainages, and research deeply in the main branches of Yellow River Drainage. Variations of river name, birthplace and afflux name have been studied; moreover, this paper analyzed deeply in the water conservancy and flood of individual rivers. Meanwhile, using the new technology, Arc GIS, this paper has showed the main characters of Yellow River Drainage through vivid map to provide a clear notion of geographic space during reading the ancient book.
