| The studies of Shuowen has been very prosperous since Qianjia School began to research on it scholarly. Duan Yucai got a great reputation for his excellence academic achievements in this field. He often used the word of "Qianren" to call the one who changed the original words by Xu Shen during his amending of Shuowen, as all the sayings of Qianren is unbelievable in his view. Although many scholars have a bone to pick with Duan’s opinions, few of them have focused on the saying of Qianren so far since the study of Qianjia School, which leads to the findings of this topic scattering around the writings. The saying of "Qianren" is the reflection of the achievement of Duan’s amending on the one hand; and also the reflection of Duan’s fault on the other hand. There was only one Master’s degree thesis that specially discussed this topic up to now, and that is why I chose this topic.In the author’s opinion, the discussion of this topic will not only fill the blank of the study of Shuowen, but also will help to re understand the text of Shuowen and the success and failure in Duan’amending work, and will also contribute to help the latter scholars do more research on Shuowenjiezizhu.The word of "Qianren" in the headline is a collective name. There are 341 "Qianren"s in DuanYucai’s work(Shuowenjiezizhu) whose edition is Jingyunlou, and there are also a few words of "Butongren"(1)、"Bushiziyizhe"(1)."Yongren" (1). "Qianzhe"s(7) and "Wangren"s(19) in it, the amout of which is 370. This thesis studies 87 sayings of "Qianren" with the help of both the archaeological achievements of ancient character and the masterpieces handed down from the ancient times with the style of Shuzheng. Comparing with Huang’s thesis, this thesis studies more characters and refers more material and also makes a comment on Duan’s gain and loss which is for reference for the people who will use Shuowen and devote themselves to study Duan’s work. |
