The Study Of The Poetry Critics Written By Three Masters In Song Dynasty

Poetry Critics, symbolistic method to review poetry, is a special literary form of poet, whichoriginates from Song Dynasty. Yusou Poetry Critics written by Shunmin Zhang, Baina Poetry Critics Written by Tao Cai, Quwen Poetry Critics written by Taosun Ao are the representatives of Song Dynasty poetry Critics, which inspire the later generation to review poetry with symbolistic method. These three master poets have the similar writing style and their works based on the same method. This paper is around the critical methods, systems, thoughts they used in their books with examples, which reveals the beauty and value of poetry critics.The paper includes four parts: introduction, main body, ending, and appendix. The introduction section includes Shunmin Zhang’s, Tao Cai’s, and Taosun Ao’s lives, writing collections and other existed reviews about their works. The main body of the paper is about the critical system, poet thought and aesthetic style of the masters’ works. For the critical system, the masters’ works is similar and all focusing on symbolistic method to review poetry; for the poet thought, they all prefer vigorous but fresh poet style and they all shared the same value that the poet shall focus on functional and using simple words; for aesthetic style, they shared the instinctive reviews of the beauty of poetry in which they explained the abstract poetry style with aesthetic method, which is special features among other maters’ works. The ending of the paper is a reflection of the bad influences of the modernized traditional masterpieces, in which the author holds the view that the west poetry theory cannot replace the status of traditional cultures. Therefore, the transaction of the traditional literary works should base on the root of national culture. The appendix has a concrete explanation of the masterpieces written by Shunmin Zhang, Tao Cai, and Taosun Ao.
