With China’s accession to the World Trade Organization and the development of globalization, China’s cooperation with foreign countries has greatly improved in various fields. The foreign affairs are increasing and the system improves constantly, especially the legal system and legal ideas get people’s attention increasingly. Therefore in China’s foreign communication, legal translation work will surely become an important job. Legal translation promotes the development of China’s legal construction and plays an important role. In order to deepen my learning ability and contact a new field of translation, the Victoria Property Act 1958 is discussed in this report. Australia has a unique legal system which provides a variety construction on legal system in our country.In a perfect market economy, relations between people, land lease becomes more and more complex. So the author chooses lease part in the whole legal translation. Translation report is divided into four parts: project introduction, skopos theory and current situation of our country law translation, under the guidance of the translation skopos theory of Victoria Property Act in 1958 and conclusion. The translation report analyses the language characteristics of the property law in 1958, which are accuracy, preciseness and fuzziness. For the features of words, the author mainly analyses it with four parts which are concept, professional vocabulary, foreign words, the old English and terminology translation. In addition, for the features of sentences, the author mainly analyses it from long sentence translation and no subject sentence translation. According to the characteristics of the discourse, the author follows the faithful principle and the principle of culture accepted of target language. The last part summarizes the translation process and translation practice.
