The Study Of Sichuan Mianzhu New Year Pictures Changes In Social Function

Sichuan Mianzhu New Year picture, on a par with the other three New Year pictures in Tianjin Yangliuqing, Shandong Weifang and Suzhou Taohuawu, is known nationwide. They are known as "China’s four major pictures", but Mianzhu New Year Picture is unique, has a very high artistic value and research value.Since Song dynasty, Mianzhu New Year picture has been widely known. After several ups and downs, it meets the changing demands of people’s preferences and social changes. In the process of this research, I found that the functions in different historical periods are concerned with the social interaction and historical Changes.Folk art is a living state art traveling with the social advancement. So far, no one has sorted out the social functions of Mianzhu New Year picture, and providing a dynamics describing combining with historical development. This is not only a comprehensive display of its developments, or a discussion of the interaction between it and social, but also a deep analysis of its art value, the social and cultural value. In this way we can answer two questions: "What kind of role does Mianzhu New Year picture play in people’s life, and what social functions does it have"; "How does the social functions change with the development of society".In this paper, I base on the theories of folklore, anthropology, sociology, focus on the evolution process of Mianzhu New Year picture’s social functions, by using the methods of literature, field investigation.The article will be divided into seven parts. The first part is an introduction to the thesis topic, research ideas, research methods and significance; The second part is the summary of Mianzhu New Year picture, briefly describe its survival environment, historical evolution and production characteristics; The third part describes the goalkeeper and all kinds of religious statues, to illustrate its function of driving out evil spirits, and analyzes the decorative aesthetic and ethical enlightenment function combined with a large number of case; The fourth part analyzes the specific historical functions in particular historical period, combined with the example of the new New Year pictures, Mianzhu card; Fifth, the main content of this paper, based on the above, makes a comprehensive description of the evolution process of Mianzhu New Year picture’s social functions, and analyzes the various causes; The sixth part is the current situation of Mianzhu New Year pictures based on the field investigation, I analyses the advantages and existing problems, and puts forward some proposals; The last part is the conclusion, I also puts forward my further thinking.
