Linguistic and pictorial arts in the developing process of human civilization are always the discussion topic among scholars, whether in western countries or in China. In the field of western philosophy, Plato and Aristotle made the tradition of "ocular centrism" by emphasizing the vision. In the 1960s, the concept of "the Linguistic Turn" was put forward; starting the new age of western modern philosophy and making language become the starting point and basis of philosophical reflection on itself. In the latter half of 20th century, the western countries stepped into consumer society and the constant innovation of technology pulled man to come into the era of picture. In the context of tradition culture and modern vision culture the "imagery" and the "visuals" were studied. They were in harmony with each other gradually. The "visuals" in the era of picture steps into visual image and simulacra. Humans observed "visuals" instead of reading "visuals" so that it turned to be parts of hyper real "visuals". The "imagery" and the "visuals" related to each other with the help of Artistic conception. Moreover, they combined with each other in modern Internet literature. But then simulacra content came into being, which was beyond the "imagery" and the "visuals".In order to study the relation of the "imagery" and the "visuals" at the era of picture, firstly,we have to trace the root of Chinese and western traditional culture. We must delimit the concept and relation of the "imagery" and the "visuals", poetry and painting have considered as of same nature in China, but as of the different nature in western countries. Secondly, the "imagery" and the "visuals" in the context of vision culture took on a new picture that they closely related to the other by distinguishing them at all times. The outstanding feature in the era of picture was that vision turned into simulacra. On one hand, the rampancy of vision led to the perceiver’s suspect to the world. On the other hand, the flood of simulacra caused the paradox of aesthetic and reality. The time broke into pieces and the space was torn, which led to that the "imagery" and the "visuals" in the era of picture blended with each other and aesthetic became more common and emotional. Following the happy principle, the pleasure of aesthetic finally walked into empty so as to satisfy the growing desires.The "visuals" in the era of picture became visual image and simulacra. Facing the changes of broken time and space, human can’t satisfy their growing desires for a moment until they are in the process of watching. Humans tried to occupy the endless space through the way of watching, which led to the visual image. The vision desert the "imagery" that needs to feel in heart limited by space, which caused watching the "visuals" rather than read the "visuals". For one thing, human can satisfy the growing desires through watching. For another, people are used to the spreading speed of vision. When receivers tried to satisfy the growing desires, "seeing" in the era of picture was also called "to be seen" and the so-called desires were others’desires as well. Human agent in the Mirror Stage also constantly alienated and the "visuals" went beyond reality and became simulacra. Humans changed from watcher to producer. On one hand, they created the hyperreal "visuals". On the other hand, they became part of the hyperreal "visuals".The relation between the "imagery" and the "visuals" in the era of picture takes on new changes with the fate of the alienation of human beings. For one thing, people trace the root of traditional culture and demand the combination of the "imagery" and the "visuals" under the communication of the artistic conception so as to expect to have a life of poetical dwelling. For another, Internet literature comes in to being and helps the combination of the "imagery" and the "visuals" under the help of Internet media. Meantime, the simulacra content can’t be ignored and it goes beyond the "imagery" and the "visuals" in the era of picture, which leads to the close relation between human and virtual world. Human can wait and see the development of the "imagery", the "visuals" and human’s fate relate to each other closely in the era of picture in future.
