This paper takes "image language" as the research object,deeply discusses the presentation and application value of image language in contemporary painting.From the perspective of "image" to examine the painting,whether in China or the west there are fundamental differences and internal relations.In the traditional culture of China,it is the earliest to put forward that "the sage sets up the image to fulfill his meaning" and "observing the object to take the image",which also forms the earliest source of the word "image"."image" is a representation of the universe and all things,and it pays more attention to the internal attributes and emotions of the objective things.Therefore,the essence of image is a high degree of unity between objective things and subjective emotions and a kind of reconstruction of objective things.In the west,the German philosopher immanuel Kant attributed the aesthetic image to a certain kind of image manifestation formed by imagination,through which artists' creative inspiration is formed.Imagery language is an important part of artistic creation in contemporary painting in the global context,whether it is Chinese painting or western painting.Although there are differences in the way of subjective and objective comparison,the principle of modeling and the aesthetic expression of painting in the image language in China and the west,the pursuit of beauty is consistent,which is the reality of the human mind and a fusion of things and self-feelings.This paper makes an in-depth analysis of the inner nature of image painting language in China and the west,and makes a comparative study.The artistic value of "image language" is not only the exploration of nature in Chinese traditional culture,but also the aesthetic pursuit of mind.At the same time,draw on the positive factors in western painting,so as to realize the innovation and development of Chinese painting.
