The New Paradigm Of Women’s Writing In Yin And Yang Thinking

Entering the new era, women’s writing has become an important direction in domestic literature research. Chen Ran, Lin Bai, Tie Ning, Wang Anyi are considered as representatives in women writers, and they have established the basic paradigm of women’s writing. However, their writing can be summarized as two types:the exposing type and the resistance type basically. And the attitudes towards women’s issues revealed in their works are not beyond the comprehension of the western feminist theorists, or we can say, their views and the feminist theorists’opinions directly echo. Therefore, practice and study of women writing in the domestic field has to follow the footsteps of western theorists. So we cannot dialogue equally with them using our own resources.If we look into the ethnic Chinese women writers’works, we can find the uniqueness of Yan Geling’s writing. She use Yin and Yang thinking to comprehend the issues often involved in Feminist Theory, so that we can see the other side of the "facts" behind the appearance revealed by the Feminists. Therefore she has deconstructed the male power sense invisibly. The Yin and Yang thinking, which means that Yin and Yang, each one is hidden behind the other, and each one can converse to the other, runs though Yan Geling’s writing, especially reflects on her comprehension of women’s issues. I intend to explore the new paradigm of women’s writing from four dimension. Firstly, it shows the disadvantages of male temperament behind its advantages and the advantages of female temperament behind its disadvantages. Secondly, it shows how women dominate men implicitly behind men’s domination. Thirdly, it shows a new understanding of the "fact" that women rely on men, and it shows that in economic terms, women actively occupy men, instead of relying on men, and in emotion terms, most of the time it is men that rely on women. Lastly, it shows a new understanding of father role and mother role. It means that the one with authority has become in a vulnerable position and can be a good friend, and the one as fertility tool traditionally has become the leader in a family.Using Yin and Yang thinking to comprehend the issue of women, Yan Geling form a new paradigm of women’s writing. It has established a dialogue relationship with western Feminist theorists’viewpoint. Therefore, it has contributed Chinese ideological resources to the research of Feminism worldwide.
