The Tang Dynasty is the boom in the development of the epitaphs which show basic fixed shape and the number of which is so big. Because of the end of country division, it realized the unification, the economic political and cultural prosperity gradually. The result of it, the epitaphs are rich. The Epitaphs in the first Period of Tang Dynasty Contained by Collation of Epitaphs Found in the Provinces of Shanxi and Shanxi and Henan(hereinafter referred to as Qin Jin Yu)compiled by the Zhao Junping and Zhao Wencheng. They transferred focus from The Luoyang which is the former capital city of Tang Dynasty and Shanxi Province which is the flourish place of Tang Dynasty.The number of the epitaphs collected in the three places is nine hundred. It is regret to confirm that nobody has interpreter and research them. I chose one hundred and seven epitaphs created in the first period of Tang Dynasty.I have interpreted and researched them. I took the research on the language and history and culture. In addition, the contents of others have been collating, reduction of predecessor loss. Then I compared the epitaphs with the literature handed down from ancient times, in order correct the omissions and errors in the literature handed down from ancient times.The article main body is divided into three parts:introduction, sorting, research. Chapter one introduction:including the general overview of the materials, the research significance, research status, research ideas and methods and the difficult point is introduced. The second chapter mainly includes annotations and comments. Annotation part as far as possible according to the original carved records, including special characters, old style etc. Annotations mainly annotate special phenomenon of words(including old style, the variant characters, etc), the words of difficult words and allusions, the epitaphs reference of historical figures, etc.
