This article adopt Shakespeare’s drama《The Merry Wives of Windsor)) as a script to compare two operas, which are Otto Nicolai’s 《The Merry Wives》of Windsor and Giuseppe Verdi’s《Falstaff》.Both of them are composed in the romantic period. It has 50 years’ gap between two operas. And these two opera are the two composers’done deal.The author will discuss this article by three sections. The first section is to discuss the female character conception and basic character that appears in Shakespeare’s masterpiece.And make a comparison about the modification that are done by two composer. Section two is based on the conflicts as a clue in these two opera, and tries to compare the female character’s performance in drama when conflict appears. Section three is the comparison of the setting acoustic of female character by these two composer and the singing treatment of female character.
