Zhang Zai is a famous Neo-Confucianist of North Song Dynasty, and also the founder of Guan Xue. He plays an important role in the history of philosophy and thought in feudal China. Therefore, the researchers of all dynasties always focused on his philosophic thinking, but ignored his literary works and thought.This paper intends to make Zhang Zai research object, mainly analyze the influence of his thought of Confucian on his literary concept, meanwhile, the author of this thesis also plans to briefly introduce the general situation of Zhang Zai’s literary works.This thesis can be divided into four relevant parts. The first part does research on the field of Zhang Zai’s literary works, including his poems and essays. The second one analyzes the interaction of Zhang Zai’s thought of Confucian and literary concept.Firstly, under the guidance of the thought of "Tai Xu Ji Qi", Zhang Zai especially paid attention to the moral and self-cultivation of scholars. Secondly, the thought of "Yi Jian " made Zhang Zai advocate the concepts of "Yi Yi Ni Zhi" and "Wu Xin Zhi Miao" in the fields of literature review and creation.Thirdly, Zhang Zai preferred "content" to "appearance" when he did deep research on the relationship of "Wen" and "Dao". He hoped the creative literary works could reflect the will of all persons. At last, Zhang Zai admired the beauty of middlebrow and the creation style of "Mi Cha".The third and forth parts of this thesis mainly analyzes the content and artistic charateristics of Zhang Zai’s poems and essays.
