The main content of this paper is to research that how to teach Chinese as a foreign language and how to teach the sentence structure of “you”. The basic idea of this paper is to research the sentence structure of “you” which shows the meaning of existence. Through the research, we can know mistakes making by the foreign students when learning the “you” sentence in the modern Chinese. The students are Indians who has basic standard of Chinese. And we use English as a teaching language. We find it is a good way that using the word’s meaning of “you” to teach the sentence structure and solve the students’ problems when learning the sentence “you”. We do the research according to pedagogy and psychology and use the ways of case analysis, comparison, semantic analysis when do the research.Through the analysis of the study of “you” in modern Chinese, we analyzed the basic characters of the sentence “you” which shows the meaning of representation and existence. According to the teaching practice we found that the Indian students are hard to manage the sentence structure of “you”.This paper is aimed to solve the problems according to the error of the students. We use the meaning of the word to make clear of the sentence structure. For example: we can solve the problem of making the wrong order of subject and the object. And we can also solve the problem of the misunderstanding of the meaning of the sentence of “shi” and “you”. And we divide the paper into three chapters.The first chapter is the introduction. It introduces the ideas of the sentence “you” which shows the meaning of existence as well as the difference between the sentence “you” and “shi”.The second chapter mainly analyzes the errors of students that make the wrong older of the subject and object in the sentence of “you”. In this chapter we introduce that solve this problem by using the meaning of the word. We discuss the meaning of sentence“you”. And make the meaning of the word and the sentence together. And do a research observing the results of using the common way in teaching and using the word’s meaning in teaching.The third chapter focuses on the problem that the students can’t make difference of the sentence structure of “shi” and “you” when learning. And we can solve the problem easily according to the meaning of “you” and “shi”.The fourth chapter is the conclusion. It summarizes conclusion of the previous chapters. When teaching sentence structure we can use the word’s meaning to help students understand the grammar. And in teaching the grammar we can combine the word’s meaning with the grammar together.
