The Wangye Temple, Ulaanhot today, was the center of politics, economy and culture of the East Part of Inner Mongolia in the 1940s. The officials and intellectuals built the Chingis Khan Shrine in 1942 to inherit the custom of sacrificed Chingis Khan. It was an important event in the Inner Mongolia modern history, which made great impact on the development of Inner Mongolia, as well as the development of economy and culture in xing’an league. To be more important, systematic study on the history of the Chingis Khan Shrine is not appeared in the academic world till now.This paper is a systematical study on the Chingis Khan Shrine’s history, more than 70 years, based on the historical materials of the Construction Commission in 1944, the Qingqi newspaper, and parts of the archival data of Khorchin Youyi Qianqi. The finding of the paper has theoretical and practical significance on the research on the modem history of both Inner Mongolia and China.This article is composed of preface, main body (three chapters in total), conclusion and references. The preface includes the significance of subject, research status and the innovation of thesis. Introduction of the historical background on the Chingis Khan Shrine is in chapter one, as well as relationship between the People in Inner Mongolia and the Japanese. The chapter two introduces the building process and fete ceremony for the first time of the Chingis Khan Shrine. The history in rebuilding of the Chingis Khan Shrine is the last chapter. The conclusions of the main content and the historical significance are the final part.
