The 21st Century witnesses great changes in the world, as well as the development of ideology field, especially the issue of morality education, which has become a commonly concerned subject increasingly valued by morality education researchers and worked. For now, the research of morality education in our country is heading for a new era demanding active exploration and creativity, and a series of new problems come up in the morality field with the rapid development of socialism market economy. Because culture exchange around the world is going deeper, morality education in our country needs research fruits to learn around the whole world’s culture, integrating with the morality education practice in our country. In spite of the truth that huge difference lie in social system, political system, ideology, history and culture background, and values between china and the western world, morality fields are similar especially in the methods and ways, with a lot to learn.This essay discusses in details the theory of modern western morality cultivation in three parts. The first chapter is about the concept analysis of morality cultivation theory. In the second chapter, this essay selects some representative theory patters in modern western morality cognitive education to illustrate the theory of morality cognitive development, values clarity, social learning and caring morality education. As to the methods of research, modern western morality cultivation put emphasis on research method of subject integration, demonstration research method of morality cultivation. The third chapter is about justification analysis of modern western morality cultivation. On the whole, the main advantages of modern western morality cultivation lie in emphasis on cultivation of moral cognitive ability, recessively education and cultivation of moral ability of practice. The main disadvantage lie in difficulties to give consideration, as well as lacking justification analysis of subject and object relationship. At last, based on clearance of doubts and clarification, this essay comes up with the important inspirations of western morality cultivation theory, in which there are methodology inspiration of theory research, education principle inspiration of morality cultivation and inspiration of means. Among them,the practical pattern of modern western morality cultivation theory provides vial reference value for our country to promote morality development education.
