At present, the cultural creativity industries are rapidly developing around the globe. Especially when traditional cultures are merged with modern product, it not only increases the cultural connotation of the product, but also enhances the value of the product, and form a unique competitive edge. Therefore, the development of creativity industries and construction of creative cities have become an important national strategy. Cultural creativity is a reflection of the living standard and the educational level of the whole society, a demonstration of the people having higher requirements of life quality, and a measure for social development. Moreover, it relates to the national development.Based on the western Sichuan folk culture, this thesis combined semiology, iconology, and history subject methods to conduct analysis and application. The application and development of Western Sichuan folk culture visual symbols in serigraphic derivatives are the insertion point of this thesis. The application of gold ware and silver ware’s visual symbol serigraphic derivatives is the key opponent for analysis. Through field investigation, data analysis, questionnaire methods, materials were collected for the re-design of Western Sichuan material cultural visual symbols. Analysis was also made on the current social environment of serigraphic derivative development, and consumer psychology. Through combining modern society’s aesthetic requirements, not only the Western Sichuan Cultural visual symbols are extended and developed, but also generated an initial proposal of applicable design methods for such visual symbols in serigraphic derivatives. Lastly, through the research into design application of Western Sichuan cultural visual symbols in serigraphic derivatives, the innovation and proliferation of traditional symbols in cultural creativity products are induced.
