Studies On Fable Of Lie Zi

Fable is the product of the development of Chinese ancient literature. It has obtained the considerable development in the Warring State Period, and becomes an important part of the philosophy prose. These classic fables appeared in the ancient books. Liezi is an important Taoist literature. It has been ignored by the researchers because of the age of the book. The true or false of Liezi has seriously hindered the development of the study of Liezi. The age of Liezi now is still the main direction of the study, but the value of mining on the text also has attracted more attention. According to statistics, there are 108 fables in Liezi and the quantity is more than the books in the Warring State Period. The neglect of Liezi is a great loss for the study of fables in the Warring State Period.The research of the fables in Liezi can be mainly divided into two parts. On the one hand, it is in the argument as the evidence of the age. The other hand is the study of the literary and artistic value of fables. My opinion is Liezi has been completed in the Warring State Period. There may be some increase and change by the descendants, butit is still an important ancient book. On the basis of the previous studies, we attempt to make full use of the methods of statistics, contrast, analysis, to pursuit some useful explorations.The paper is mainly divided into four sections.Chapter one is introduction. First of all, it is necessary to make a review of the present situation, the significance of the study and discuss the specific methods of the paper. Chapter two is the fables of Liezi. Introduce the basic situation of Liezi and its themes and artistic characteristics though the statistics. Chapter three is the statistical research of the fables between Liezi and other Analects. Using the method of comparison analyze the representative fable in order to make sure of the time sequence based on the statistics. Chapter four is the position of Liezi’s fable in the Warring State Period. Introduce the fable’s development in the Warring States Period and its influence on the later ages.
