Su shi is a famous literati and artist in northern song dynasty.He was very proficient in the field of literature,art,poetry,calligraphy and painting.At the same time,he has a very important position in the painting history of Chinese literary world. Su shi is the first man who comprehensive illustrated the theory of literati’s paintings,clearly put forward the concept of "scholar painting" for the first time.His theory of the literati’s paintings had a profound influence on later generations.About this,people did more analysis in the aspect of the theory,but did less analysis in his concrete painting practice combining with his production.The main reason is the Sushi’s existing production is few in number.The number of Su shi’s authentic painting found in literature is less than ten frames,the production handed down from ancient times is still less. Through the analysis of the "Figure’s roll of xiaoxiang’s bamboo and stone" we explore and understand Su shi’s painting practice and aesthetic practice. Besides Su shi and Wen tong commen created the literati’s painting subject of "Deadwood,bamboo and stone "."Figure’s roll of xiaoxiang’s bamboo and stone" is Su shi’s masterpiece relied on "bamboo stone" to sustenancing literati’s spirits and expressing poet feelings. Through the reading painting we go to realize the poet’s pursuit of a perennial life realm.
