The Mediating Effect Of Central Executive Function On Trait Anxiety And Estimation In Different Difficulties

Estimation can improve students’ judgment and understanding ability of number and spatial form, it also can enhance students’ ability of processing information and solving practical problems.Previous studies have shown that, in addition to intelligence, students’ estimate ability is also closely related with problem, emotion and cognition.We selected students from Suzhou Career Academy, designed three studies to investigate the relationship of trait anxiety and estimation performance in different difficulties and found out that the trait anxiety was how to influence the estimation performance, that was to say we try to test the mediating effect of central executive function between trait anxiety and estimation in different difficulties.108 subjects were selected to participate the experiments through Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale,Trait Anxiety Investigation, et al.Each participant was required to complete the estimation experiment,and central executive function experiment.The results are as follows:1. The effect of trait anxiety and problem difficulty on estimation performance: In the simple and complex problems, the correct rate of low trait anxiety subjects was higher than high trait anxiety subjects, the reaction time was shorter than high trait anxiety subjects, and both of them had significant differences; In the complex problems, the correct rate of both low and high trait anxiety subjects was lower than the simple problems, the reaction time was longer than the simple problems, and both of them had significant differences.2. Different levels of trait anxiety individuals had significant differences in update and shift function of central executive function, but there was no significant difference in inhibition function.3. In different difficulties, the relationships of trait anxiety,central executive function and estimation(correct rate and reaction time)had different correlations.4. In the complicated problems, shift function of central executive function has a significant mediating effect on trait anxiety and estimation performance, while inthe simple problems, the mediating effect of executive function central on trait anxiety and estimation performance has no significant difference.
