Robert Frost( 1874- 1963) was one of the dis tingui shed poets in the history of American literature in 20 t h century. He created numerous poems with his own uni que artistic charm and unparalleled artistic val ue. Characterized by his plain and easy artistic language, Rober t Frost left many masterpieces in the context of the rural lives and nat ural scenery, such as After Apple-Pic king, Mendi ng wall and Reap. As for the Research on the pastoral poetry, domestic and fore ign scholars mainl y focus on the aspect of translat ion, theme s, artistic char acteristics and comparative st udy, The r esearch on the angle of aesthetics and social background is relatively weak, especially for the study of labor aesthe tic s. In this article, ae sthetic theory, combined with t he method of text reading are us ed to r efle ct the labor bea uty, heart bea uty and dis cuss Robert Frost’s pastoral poetry artistic value and far reachi ng s ignificance.The thesis is expecte d to expand its academic horizons, enrich the study on Fr ost’s poetry, make c ontribution to exploration of the aesthe tic ta ste the poet placed in his poetry as well as the understanding and supplementary of aesthetic ideology in poet’s other poems, prose, and drama aes thet ics thought for reference. At the same time, it aims to inspire the contemporary people how to deal with the relationship of human and labor, huma n and nature and human and human in theore tic al and practice si gnificance a nalysis.The the sis i s divided i nto six parts. The fi rst par t, introduct ion, introduces the r esearch bac kground, research methods, re search content, re search re sults and analysis on the status of related research both at home and abroad in the poetry of Fr ost. It reve als t hat there i s still ade quate room for the r esearc h of aesthetics of Frost’s pastoral poet ry, thus to confirm the research contents and methods as well as the significance of the re search. The second part discuss es the soci al significance of Frost’s pa storal poetry as well as t he thought of human s urvival value in the backgr ound of indus trial revolution era; The third part discusses the labor ae sthetics in Frost’s Pastora l Poetry, including aesthetic subject, the beauty of labor environment, labor process and l abor a chievements. The fourth par t apprec iates the quiet and elegant soul beauty and natural beauty. The fifth part investegates the conc ern, whi ch ismanifested by the poem, of the re lat ionships between human beings and their relations with the nature. Then, the conclusion is the summary and enlightenment of Frost’s pastoral poe try aesthetic s tr ait s.
