Robert Frost is one of the most outstanding poets in American literature of the 20th century. The main subject of his poetry is nature; and most of his poetry is about New England life,with rich pastoral sentiment. Nature is the source of Frost's creation. His nature poetry, characterized by its simple language, graceful conception and profound meaning, leads us to endless.Ecological problem has become a hot issue of the whole world. And the ecocritical consciousness has been expressed in Frost's poetry. The research subject is Robert Frost's view of nature, this thesis expounds from the ecological approach with ecocriticism. The first part introduces Robert Frost's background information and modern critical attitudes towards Frost's poetry. The second part is about the ecocritical consciousness in his poetry. The third part specificly analyzes his view of nature from romantic and modernistic view, and nature's inspiration to Frost. The fourth part reveals the implication of Frost's view of nature.The conclusion is that only man and nature coexist harmoniously can benefit each other; and it is a wise choice for human beings to get on the ecological civilized road of development. The purpose of this thesis is to enhance our aesthetic judgement to Frost's nature poetry, deepen the comprehension towards his view of nature. Besides, to make people realize that man and nature should coexist harmoniously, and the ecological civilized society should be constructed in the process of industry development and material pursuit. This is where the theoretical and practical significance lies in.
