| Landscape painting occupies a very important position and plays a crucial role in Chinese traditional art of painting. Original creation of artistic conception can be felt from the landscape painting the painters. Artistic conception is an indispensible element to express beauty in Chinese traditional art painting, it is considered as the soul of the landscape painting. Painters express their artistic conception through poetry and inscribe a poem in the painting. The expression of the artistic conception is the great symbol to indicate the level of painters. Thought realm shown in the pictures of Chinese ancient landscape painters is the aesthetical standard to evaluate the value of works. Thousands of years passes, artistic conception now has become an important aesthetic criteria of assessment, for it is the real outpouring of the mental feelings as well as subjective perception of the artist. After Wei and Jin dynasties, official painters did not simply put things into their art works; instead they embodied their feelings in the objective things through painted scenery to spiritualize the arts. Painters strengthened the artistic conception by adding the poem into the painting. The poem and the painting complement with each other. The combination of the poem and the painting has balanced the content with composition of a picture. To a certain extent they make the best of the both sides to perfect the painting. Painting is the poem in shape and the poem is painting invisible. The paintings can gain both the beauty of poetry and make the feeling and setting happily blended. All these make the viewer had a deeper understanding and feeling to the art of poetry and painting.This paper is divided into three parts, the first part mainly analyzes the artistic conception of landscape painting and describes the production, the development and the role of artistic conception. The paper demonstrates manifestation mode and content of the specific arts in various dynasties. It shows the functions of the artistic conception in landscape painting. The second part is mainly focused on analyzes the role of the poetry in expressing the artistic conception in landscape painting, and how its form andcontent affect the development of artistic conception in landscape painting. The third part mainly analyzes how the conception of poetry affected the landscape painting artistic conception in the performance of the contemporary landscape painting and what kind of development tendency it will be produced in the expression of the artistic conception in the future. |
