Research On The Ideology Of Kingcraft Of Zheng Xiaoxu

As one of the representatives of the Qing Loyalists, Zheng Xiaoxu is also the controversial figure in the modern history of China. Throughout the activities of his life, he got into politics, business, education, publishing and other industries. His footprint was sufficient to reflect the history appearance of the late Qing Dynasty. In culture, he was the leader of the verse of Tong Guang and his calligraphy was also famous in that time. In politics, he has begun to restore the old dynasty especially he served as a teacher of Pu Yi. To achieve the goal, he advocated cooperation with Japan, and promoted the establishment of the Manchukuo. After that, the idea of the ideology of kingcraft he put forward, which included the Chinese traditional Confucianism and the knowledge combined with the current situation, became the founding ideas of the puppet Manchukuo used by Japanese invaders.This thesis consists of the following parts:The first part is the introduction of background of the ideology of kingcraft including the influence of the traditional cultural, the early restoration activities and the background of Japanese invasion.The second part analyzes the content of the ideology of kingcraft, including the pursuit of the recovery of the monarchy in politics, the recovery of the ideology of Confucius and Mencius in culture, the discourse of abolishing armaments in military. This is not only the focus of this paper, but also the difficulty.The third part discusses the practice and failure of the ideology of kingcraft, including the difficulties in practice and the reason for failing.The fourth part summarizes its characteristics by comparing it with other ideology of kingcraft, including the traditional ideology of kingcraft and the ideology of kingcraft of Tachibana Shiraki who was one of the representative figures in the ideological field of the establishment of the Manchukuo.
