Latin dance is a sport activity that combines both art and sports and is regarded as a classic combination of strength and beauty. However, due to its technical feature, site features as well as shoes’ features, Latin dancers’ lower limbs especially knees usually bear great pressure and suffer a high risk of injury. Injuries not only an obstruction of athletes’ professional advancement, but also affect their regular training even daily routines. As a result, through the investigation of Latin dancers’ knee injuries, this paper aims at finding out factors that can causes the injuries and helping reduce the incidence of injuries. It also hopes to ensure athletes’ regular training and competition and help them achieve outstanding performance as well as sustain excellent competitive state.By using the methods of literature consultation, specialist interview, questionnaire, mathematical statistics and structural equation modeling,the thesis explores the factors related to the injuries of Latin dance players based on the structure of the knee joint and the characteristics of Latin dance and recommend appropriate strategies for preventing knee joint injury. The results of the study are:1. There are six factors related to the injuries of Latin dance players according to the results of factor analysis:the arrangement of training, physical fitness, external interferences, skill movements, warming-ups, andmental activities.2. The two factors, external interferences and mental activities are excluded according to the established structural equation model by the software AMOS17.0.3. Themost influential factors on the injuries of Latin dance playersare identified as skill movements, the arrangement of training, physical fitness and warming-ups.Based on the four factors in the results, strategies are discussed in the article. Mastering the correct skill movements of legs, arranging reasonable and scientific athletic load, adopting a wide range of knee joint training methods and paying attention to the warming-ups are all practical measures to prevent knee joint injury.
