The Study On Localization Of Yunnan Xundian Xinshao Yi Village’s Christianity

Christianity is a foreign heterogeneous cultural to China, the problems that caused by its spreading and development in China is actually the results of the cultures collision west between China and the west, while the localization of Christianity is exactly what happened in this collision of the cultural exchanges and cultural integration process. The dissemination and development of Christianity in Yunnan national minority area is actually the process of localization of Christianity. In different periods, different regions and nationalities, the development of Christianity’s localization are not the on same level, and this is related to the harmonious and stable social development of ethnic regions and the whole society. The author choose Yunnan Xundian Xinshao Yi village as the investigation spots, provide an example for the study on the relationship between Christianity and the ethnic and social development.Based on the field investigation and literature study, we’ll make a depiction on the history of Christianity’s spreading and development in Yunnan, in the Yi areas and in the Xinshao village. In the earlier period, Christianity has a good development in Xinshao Yi village, actually it is also the successful practice of Christianity’s localization. The good localization is mainly manifested in such aspect,the theological doctrine, the missionary style, the religious life, the church’s organization and management. We can summed up the experience from the successful localization of Christianity at the earlier period, it benefited from the specific historical and social background, the foreign missionary’s efforts, the promotion on social careers brought by the church and the training of the national religious force.But in the later period, with the change of the society forms, great changes have taken place in the times and in the social conditions, which makes the development of Christianity getting weak at later, these problems are mainly appeared on such aspect,the dilemma appear on the development of Christianity, church put itself on the inappropriate position, the trust crisis appear between the church and the local governments, the relationship break up between the Christian and the non Christian. The cause of these problems is include of the history and society’s advances, the challenge by political environment, the condition of the economy, the limit by the culture and education’s development, the church’s own mismanagement and the influence by the illegal religious activities.In the author’s views, the Christianity’s localization is the necessary for Christianity ‘s development in the national minority area, and it is also an important guarantee for the harmonious and stable development of the national minority area. The government, the church and the people must work together to promote the localization of Christianity in minority areas to continue in-depth development. The government must insists on the policy of freedom of religious belief, to strengthen the management of religious activities. The church must to promote its own reform, to play a positive role in the construction of the socialist society, and adapt to it. People of the ethnic minorities must to strengthen their national identity and cultural identity. the people of Christian and the non Christian have to reach a good cooperation, and in together to struggle to a minority nationality region’s better future.
