Female painter is an important part of the Renaissance art history.In the nearly three hundred years from 14 th century to the mid 17 th century, there are 14 female artists in the history.Most of them were born in the family of artists.At the same time,They competed with male painter and obtained benefits in the art market.They are the inheritors of Humanism.Their artistic style goes with the times.Meanwhile,the female artists’ a were not better than the works of male artists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.This indicates that there are no great female artists in the Renaissance. This article will study the painting style and artistic status of the 14 female artists in the Renaissance.Through these studies,the author tries to illustrate the problems of the female artists faced and the achievement of they obtained in the Renaissance.And the author tries to show the art history which were covered during the turning time.This paper consists of three parts what are the introduction, text and epilogue.The introduction is to show reseach methods, background, purpose, domestic,foreign related research,and writing ideas and methods.The second chapter of this article states the background of the Renaissance woman.The third chapter researches on personal experience and artistic characteristics about the Renaissance female artists.The fourth chapter analyzes female painters’ artistic achievements in the Figure painting.This chapter will compare female painter with male painters.In this way,the writer attempts to summarizes the artistic style of female painters in the Renaissance.The fifth chapter summarizes the female artists of future generations faced problems that same as the Renaissance painter,and explores the potential of female artists in the artistic creation.The third part of the study is the summary.The summary shows the female artists’ major contributions and status and influence that is the Renaissance female painters comparing with the male painters in the whole art history.
