In the history of Chinese ethnical opera development, Jiangjie dominates a significant role,which is considered as the second highest peak in history. In 1964, it was composed by PLA’s League of Air Force mission, combing the excellent ethnical music tradition and the creative techniques of western music.In this essay, the author selects several classical episodes----Song; Red Plum Blossom, youth contributed to communism and peoples on five continents laughing heartily etc. the writer analyzes the episodes from different aspects, including melodies, expressions of emotion. musical images and styles, sing techniques and aesthetic treatment, aiming to further work out the connotation and essential of Jiangjie so as to help more students, in their learning to sing the opera, accurately understand the internal emotion of the character and convey the spirit of red plum via musicFour chapters are in the essay: chapter 1 is the summary and foundation of the whole essay, based on the background and process of the creation as well as the presentation of the plots. Chapter 2 is the body of the essay, taking several episodes as examples, through research on the musical melodies, styles, emotion, singing techniques and stage performance, generally expounds the outstanding function of the classical episodes in picturing characters, developing plots and perfecting effect of opera. In chapter 3, the author induces and elaborates how Jiangjie and the classical episodes in it influences the development of opera in China based on abundant historical documents. The last chapter is a conclusion, in which the author acknowledges her gratitude to her tutor and lists the references.
