The main problems of the human society are personal request and personal development. The most important thing of personal request and development is the improvement of a series of economic indicators such as economic development, per capita income and per capita consumption. So the growth and reduce of population will lead to the changes in GDP and per capita GDP. Meanwhile, the changes of population will be the pressure and power of economic structure and social structure. Therefore, the population data collection and sorting becomes important to the economic growth study of ancient society and social changes. In this paper, through the comparison between UK and China population index datas, such as the national population, the annual growth rate of population in 14-19 century, the childbearing of men and women in17-19 century, the sex ratio of men and women in 14-19 century, the land area in 13-19 century, i try to find the differences in the baisc demographic datas between British and China through which i will find the reasons for the growth of per capita resources and national income. Moreover, from the population data espect, i will find the relationships among per capita resources, per capita income and the adjustment of industrial structure.Generally speaking, in the traditional agricultural society, the population growth is less than 0.3%. But in the certain period of the Qing Dynasty, China’s population growth rate is over 0.3%, which indicates China’s labor productivity has increased. However, the increase is not entirely the increase of cultivated land, on the countrary, the per capita farmland has been on the decline. This shows that the increase of transaction frequency and transaction size in internal Chinese industrial structure, results in the improvement of labor productivity. The same thing happened to British. After 1750, the average annual growth rate of population is over 0.5%, and the highest reached 1.5%. Such a high rate of population growth must be accompanied by higher growth rate of per capita income. The British population growth rate has a strong causal relationship with the industrial revolution. This paper, through analyzing and sorting out the datas, clarify the reason of China’s population growth during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and we also find the reason how British realized its population growth through industrial revolution. That is the industrial revolution brought new economy which realized the rapid growth of per capita income. That also made people get rid of the agriculture mode.
