Turkish,a western ancient nomad who ruled the roost in Mobei,was active from the sixth to eighth century AD and of great significance in the history of China.This paper focuses on the problem of population to explore the history development of the ancient Turkic and mainly analyzes and interprets Turkic ethnic origin and race,population quantity,population composition,population distribution,population migration and Turks custom and belief based on many history books and archaeological data.Considering the consolidated statement,the Turkic core caste Ashina clan source race can be concluded: Ashina tribe of ancient ancestors had experienced a historical process of constant movement and long-term development.The sayings are not sure that Turkic people are from the west of pure white Caucasian race or the Turks are Mongolia yellow race.Turks are different from the ancient race of Huns,thus Turks,tiele people and Hu people must be distinguished;but on the other hand,the Turks have many connections with and those ancient nomads of the north in geography,blood ties and cultural spirit.The so-called purest race can not find any answers in logic,for the world is endless,and all things are in uncertainty.The analysis of origins of minority can help trace the evolutionary process of ethnic populations,and better understand the development history of human activities.The paper analyzes the rise and fall of the polymerization of ancient Turkic people,from the perspectives of the changes of troops and populations in different periods.The ancient Turkic experienced a development of history: from a family to a clan,a tribe,a tribe alliance,then establishing the powerful Turkic Khanate,and finally the decline of the demise.The ancient Turkic tribe has experienced from small to large,from weak to strong,a process of centralization and decentralization.The Turkic Khanate regime change have obvious relevance with and the Turkic population changes.In the ancient society,because the science and technology was not advanced enough to influence and change the natural environment,so the influence of population quality on society was almost negligible and populationalmost could directly determine the overall strength of a state of a tribe.The composition of ancient Turkic population is very complicated.The nomadic khanates constructed by Turkic people was not typical class society,whose class stratification was not obvious and the population of core tribes were Ashina and A Stead S.Besides,the main tribes were the tiele tribes,ten surname tribe of Uighur tribes in the western regions,many other affiliated tribes.Each ethnic Turkic regime of East Asia,Central Asia and other regions had experienced the process of turkification at different levels.The geographical distribution of Turkic population was very broad,and generally speaking,a region with good ecological environment,and advanced economy and culture was concentrated with the largest population.Overall,the ancient Turkic population mainly flew into the Central Plains region.The population migration leads to collision of different cultures,which is the prelude to the birth of human civilization,and the theme of social progress.It is the essional factor to adjust the production of human life for the of population migration reveals the cohesion of traditional culture.The centralization and decentralization of ancient Turkic population not only connects with the political stability of Turkic internal state and natural disasters,but also has many relationship with the world outside the Turks,especially the stablility and unity of Central Plains Dynasty.The population migration of ancient Turkic also shows that population migration and national strength are reciprocal causation,namely a strong country can lead to concentrated population while a weak country can make people scattered.About the social customs of ancient Turkic people,there are many characteristics which are of assimilation and different personality.The basic necessities of life,marriage customs and funeral customs of tribes all have their own national characteristics,many of which reflect ideas of ancient Turkic tribes.Besides their different religious beliefs have also shown obvious diversity and reflected inner world state of mind and spirit pursuit of the ancient Turkic peoples form different points,which are the externalization and lifelization of world view,life view and values of ancient Turkic people.
