Research On Maulia Group Of Yinchuan City

In the progressive tide of social transformation, great changes of Islam have taken place in many fields of the society, and it has gradually entered into a stable and rational development epoch. The Party and the government have gradually strengthened the construction of the ethnic minority area’s politics, economy, culture, and society. And for Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, it nourishes the healthy development of Islam in this Region with abundant material resources and steady social basis. The development of the times, however, poses a challenge to Islam. It is confronted with many new situations and problems. Yinchuan, as the capital city of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, under the background of social transformation, its urbanization has been accelerating with rapid development of the society and the economy. The Hui people’s way of life and value concept have been impacted, and Muslim parents hope that their children can receive better education and working opportunities. Young imams and excellent maulias who have received Hui people’s madrasah education of the city have been outflowed. It will become a severe problem of the future successors of Islam. Muslim people’s qualities have been enhanced unceasingly, and the demands for the imam and the maulia to be equipped with comprehensive qualities are becoming higher and higher. Islamic clergy have faced with great pressure. Maulia, as the successor of madrasah education, is the basis of the long and healthy development of Islam. They are fresh blood of madrasah education, and their knowledge level, the overall qualities and their behaviors have significant influence on the Muslim masses. The research content mainly focuses on the maulia group in madrasah education of Hui people from the city during transitional period. And the research area is limited in mosques in Yinchuan city. Through making questionnaire survey and deep interview with the maulia group of mosques, this paper explores the maulia group’s developing trend and plight, and presents the group’s real life, which is to be analyzed and discussed from the following several parts:The first part is introduction, which mainly elaborates the background and the significance of the topic selection, the survey area selection, the research dynamic, and research methods. In the second part, the definition of the word "maulia" is explained from the angle of history, as well as the maulia group’s development history, cultivation mode, functions and status. The third part describes the basic situation of the maulia group as a whole in Yinchuan city, including maulias’ distribution structure, geographical structure, cultural level, etc. Besides, the functions of maulia group in Yinchuan are described in detail. The fourth part mainly explores the current situation of the maulias’ "prayer", and shows their real life thorough investigation and description. In the fifth part, through the analysis of the fourth part, it is concluded of the realistic difficulties and dilemma of the group. The sixth part contains thinking and discussion, suggestions and comments on the plight of maulia group in Yinchuan city.
