The Interpretation Of Xia Zengyou From His Letters And Interpersonal Communication

Xia Zengyou is an important scholar, poet, politician and thinker in China modern history. In the late period of Qing Dynasty, he was one of the very few elites who fully deserved his fame and had great influence on Liang Qichao, Yan Fu. But because of various reasons, his position in history has not been paid enough attention to, and his historical image is blurred. Of the remaining few files of Xia Zengyou, letters are an important parts. From Xia Zengyou’s letters, we can roughly understand his interpersonal network, and also can see his secret inner world. From this perspective, it is not difficult to understand the motivation and significance of Xia Zengyou’s thought behaviors. In addition to personal meaning, Xia Zengyou’s letters belong to his specific time, so research on Xia Zengyou’s letters is not only to summer Xia Zengyou, but also to research the history of modern ideology, which has certain significance.This paper consists of introduction, text, and conclusion.The introduction part briefly introduces Xia Zengyou’s life, and the current research status about Xia Zengyou and gives a relatively comprehensive analysis, and finally explains the writing method of the thesis, the theory and research methods.The text consists of two parts.The "interpersonal network" in the letters of Xia Zengyou is divided into two chapters. The first chapter "interpersonal relationships" in the letters of Xia Zengyou first introduced the situation of Xia Zengyou’s existing letters, and then analyzed the various communication group and communication content existing in the letters of Xia Zengyou. The second chapter is" communication between Xia Zengyou and his communication parters",and analyses their communication case between Xia Zengyou and Liang Qichao, Song Shu, Yan Fu, Wang Kangnian and other communicators "Analysis of Xia Zengyou from his letters"is also divided into two chapters. The first chapter "personality" of Xia Zengyou shows his four kinds of main characteristic features from Xia Zengyou’s letters. The second chapter "the ambition and predicament of Xia Zengyou"first analyses Xia Zengyou’s life pursuit reflected in the letters of Xia, and then studies his life dilemma faced by Xia Zengyou combining with its times.The last part sheds new light on the dilemma of Xia Zengyou which have mentioned earlier and reexamines Xia Zengyou’s thought and pursuit from the perspective of cultural conservatism.
