With the protagonist—Shangguan jintong’s Oedipus Complex as the breakthrough point, the paper probed into rhetorical strategies in Big Breasts&Wide Hips written by Moyan, which consisted of the Oedipus Complex and its rhetorical function exterted on text,inorder to touch the core text and restore author’s rhetorical intention.The symbol "breast" with the frequency of533times was the focal symbol in the text. Combining with the interpretation of the "breast" and pragmatic context and situation that appear in the text,and analysising the three meanings of the symbol "breast" and the rhetoric replacement between them, we found the semantic value of the symbol "breast" in the deep gradation was a kind of metaphysical rhetoric expressions.The large and rich naming symbols of the protagonist—Shangguan jintong directly or indirectly derived from the Oedipus Complex. The naming system involved in the starting point of the text narrative setting, narrative propulsion and the final setting promoted the construction of the whole text.The Oedipus Complex not only shapped the tragic theme of the text,but also obscured the serious topic to some extent.
