The Distance Effect Of Psychological Scanning At The Visual Imagery Of Chinese Characters:from The Perspective Of Southeast Asian Students

Confusion may exist between metric distance and category distance when talked about the distance effect of psychological scanning. Metric distance and category distance are two different categories of distance information, and men and women characterize the information not only in the process of characterizing the metric distance information, but also the process of characterizing the category distance information. In this paper, with behavioral experiments as a carrier to measure reaction time data and different structures of Chinese characters as experimental materials, psychological scanning law will be explored among the Southeast Asian Chinese characters, and distance effect will be investigated at visual imagery scanning of Chinese characters processing among Southeast Asian students. We are trying to separate the metric distance and category distance from two different distances to reveal that the effects distance of psychological scanning can be further expanded to the metric distance effect and category distance effect, and the existence of gender differences or not at visual imagery scanning will be studied among Southeast Asian students.The results showed that:1Metric distance effect exists at Southeast Asian Chinese character processing visual imagery scanning, namely, the react time of scanning increases when the metric distance increases;2Category distance effect exists at Southeast Asian Chinese character processing visual imagery scanning, namely, the react time of scanning increases when the category distance increases;3There is no significant gender differences at Southeast Asian Chinese character processing visual imagery scan;4Metric distance and category distance are two different categories of distance information, should be treated differently;5There may be some mechanism of interaction between metric distance information and category distance information.
