In recent years, the expanding applications of Chinese in Cambodia can be seen in thefollowing areas: first, the increasing number of overseas Chinese population; second, theincreasing development of Chinese tourism and Chinese enterprises investment in Cambodia;third, the increasing of Chinese aid to Cambodia; fourth, the establishment of the ConfuciusInstitute in Cambodia and the rapid development of Confucius Classroom all around Cambodia.To some extent, these reasons promoted the development of Chinese using in Cambodia.In September2014, the author was selected to send to Cambodia to be a volunteer Chineseteacher in the Confucius Institute of Regular Academy Cambodia Royal Army by Hanban. Froma nearly one year Chinese teaching experience in Cambodia, starting from November2014toMay2015, I found that there are some pending problems to be solved urgently. Firstly, theposition of Chinese language teaching and the management of teaching-related issues inCambodia lacks of scientific foundation; secondly, the mobility of Chinese volunteerteachers,combined with the facts that many local Chinese teachers education background are notsolid, and their teaching is not good enough; thirdly, the Chinese textbooks used in Cambodia areout of date, the localization of Chinese textbooks are rare to have; finally, the lack ofinstructional design, Chinese class teaching is in a great randomness which leads to a lowteaching efficiency.The development of Chinese teaching in Cambodia in the past20years is slow and lacks ofChinese teaching related research findings. Although in recent years some progress have beenmade, but the research on instructional design is still rarely seen. There are only seven essaysfrom the author’s searching results, and they mainly focus on the individual language elementssuch as voice, vocabulary, grammar, pragmatics and other issues. For a complete text, theresearch on how to design a systematic and comprehensive instructional course is very few. Based on the above situations, this article choose "May I have a try?"——a comprehensivetext from the Contemporary Chinese textbook, based on the fundamental requirement of teachingChinese Language as a second language, use the appropriate teaching methods, analyze to thegreatest degree of all the aspects of the learner’s non-intelligence factors and school readiness,fully use a variety of teaching resources such as material object、video and other materials tofacilitate Chinese Classroom Teaching. Hope to achieve a enhance of students’ interests inlearning Chinese language, and be able to use the Chinese language knowledge proficiently fromthis lesson.
