In the19th century, the development of natural science has reached to the summitand began brewing new scientific revolution, which also entered on the eve of themodern natural science. This paper, taking the theory of evolution which started fromthe mid-nineteenth century for scientific background and the dominant Christiantheology as the basis of religion, with referencing to the research achievements ofChinese and western scholars in recent years, studies how the production anddevelopment of the theory of evolution influenced the production of the Christiantheology and the reaction of Christian theology to the theory of evolution, explores therelationship between science and religion, draws the conclusion: in this period, therelationship between science and religion was conflicted; the source of the conflictfocused on the issues of the "God""Natural" and "People". The theory of Evolutionbroke the view of "creationism" and "Man is the center of the nature”, and put forwardthe point of" Creatures in nature, including people, are evolved ". Based on this, theScience and the Religion clashed again, which triggered a fierce debate in the scientificand religious. Although there were conflict and controversy, this battle also contributedto the development of both, which could not be ignored: scientists constantly confirmedthe authenticity of theory by their own research methods; People also believed thatScience can bring a better life and it begins to overtake Christianity as a kind of life andthe way of salvation. Scientific rationality gradually increased, while religion was lessglory and prosperity. Christianity began to actively change, constantly adjusted itself tothe environment, walked toward its future in the new modern spirit.
