In recent years, mandarin fever has emerged globally, mandarin is popular andgetting focus from various countries. More and more foreigners are joining into thegroup of learning mandarin, and now the international popularization of mandarin hasbecome one of our national strategies. However, with the continuous deepening ofinternational popularization of our mandarin, it also comes to a new stage oftransforming and developing, which is changing from simply output mandarin in thebeginning to a new pattern that output mandarin as well as Chinese culture, and THECHINESE BRIDGE is just one of the important means to better popularize mandarin,furthermore, the test questions of the contest is key part to make a good CHINESEBRIDGE contest, because the test questions can be taken as one medium to fullyshow our long historical and cultural tradition, it can also make the world knowsChina better.THE CHINESE BRIDGE world college students’ mandarin contest is oneimportant part of mandarin contest. It was held once a year since2002, and it wassuccessfully held for12terms till now, in the past years, under the joint efforts andconstant exploration of the team, the setting of contest questions has developed onepattern and style, but it is undeniable that the setting of the test questions is still facingmany difficulties, for example, it is lack of instructions about the clear theory ofquestions-setting, the work of setting questions is yet to become one complete system,etc. To better guide the work of setting questions of the contest, we should summarizethe experience from past terms of contest when set the test questions, and streamlineassociated theories, which will be benefit for the future work to set test questions, andthis is imperative.This paper is to develop a study on the test questions of THE CHINESEBRIDGE world college students’ mandarin contest. The setting of contest questions isone very important work for the contest, it is not only one important factor that willimpact to contest’s operation, result and effect, it is also one important window to spread China’s culture. This paper analyzed and studied the test questions from twoaspects of content and form, aim to clearly identify the problems of questions-settingvia our study and analysis, and come up with corresponding solutions for theproblems.This paper is divided by four parts. The first part of introduction includes fiveaspects, the study background of this paper, general situation, study status in quo,study purpose/method and existing problems/solutions of THE CHINESE BRIDGEworld college students’ mandarin contest. The second part is focus on the content ofthe test questions, made summary and analysis to the questions about nationalconditions, culture, mandarin knowledge and speech, and made the study on thefeatures that these questions reflected. The third part is focus on the form of the testquestions, studied on three aspects, setting of question types, expression of questionsand utilization of pictures in the questions. The fourth part is focus on the work ofsetting questions, studied on the factors that impact to the work of setting questions,and the problems need to be noted in the work of setting questions.
