Under the context of the economic globalization,with China's booming economy and the advancing national strength,there's a great demand of learning Mandarin in many countries across the world.In the meantime,a series of language speaking competitions were held by Confucius Institute Headquarters,which lay a solid foundation for popularizing Mandarin and Chinese culture."Chinese Bridge" has the largest and the broadest impact amongst them all.Through reviewing literature,analyzing videos,and studying cases and contents,this paper,firstly,intends to make a comprehensive analyzation of the 12th,13th and 14th "Chinese Bridge".And then the paper intends to analyze unique features of the "Chinese Bridge".Last but not least,the paper will offer some insights for the Chinese Language teaching for the advanced language learners.Chapter one of this paper gave a brief introduction of the whole paper in terms of the study significance,methods,contents and the structure,and a brief literature review.This part aims clarifying the study subject of this paper while concluding the previous studies.Chapter two prominently focused on the "Chinese Bridge" itself.This part begun from identifying and analyzing the topics,competition system,rubric,and question types of the first 14 sessions Competition,followed by the specific analyzation of the 12th,13th and 14th sessions from all aspects mentioned above.Chapter three further analyzed the questions and contestants' performances in the 12th,13th and 14th Chinese Bridge Competition from four aspects of phonetics,vocabulary,grammar and culture.Chapter four analyzed the contestants' capacity from two aspects--language capacities(listening,reading and speaking),and comprehensive capacities(interpersonal communication and impromptu performance)shown in the 12th,13th and 14th Chinese Bridge Competition.Chapter five illustrated the features of the Chinese Bridge Competition from aspects of media effect,competition system and question design.Finally,chapter six analyzed the Competition from aspects of teaching contents and teaching method,and made related instructional design.Hopefully,this paper will shed some insights for Mandarin teaching.The innovation parts about this paper is the studying angle is from the contestants' perspective.This paper analyzed both their answers to the direct questions and their overall performance during the competition.After that,the paper made related instructional design which made this article has the pragmatic function in the real classroom teaching scenario.
