Qing Dynasty was a period which ancient Chinese philology developed greatly.Dai Zhen, Duan Yucai, Wang Niansun and Wang yinzhi, especial those Qianjiascholars whose mainly thought was to “seek truth from facts” made a greatcontribution on the text, phonology, exegesis, collation etc. In the late Qing Dynasty,scholar Yu Yue followed the tradition of Qianjia school, absorbed the previousacademic achievements, made more contribution on the collection and collation ofancient books. Gushu Yiyi Juli was a masterpiece of Yu Yue, who arranged thedifficult problems in ancient books, formed various regulations and explained themcarefully. His research promoted the development of the exegesis. Therefore GushuYiyi Juli was worthy of our serious discussion. |
