“Sanyan” is a collection of novel that created by Feng Menglong who was anovelist in Ming dynasty. This book originally named as “Gu Jin novel” that there are120chapters that divided into three sets and each set has forty chapters. Later, thecollection of three novels Yushimingyan, Xingshitongyan, Xingshihengyan was called“Sanyan” by the writer. The character in this novel are numerous, they lived all kindsof fields and every corner of each dynasty. The book describes their happiness, joysand sorrows, recounting the sickness and death, reveal the ethics.“Sanyan” is almostin the vernacular form, its language is vivid and can reflect the whole language styleof that society. Therefore, the language in “Sanyan” can reflect the general spoken atthe end of Ming dynasty, has a great value in the language research.This thesis we look the personal pronouns as our research objects, describe thegrammatical features of “Sanyan” personal pronouns exhaustively. We outline theoverall use condition of personal pronouns in “Sanyan” through diversity andmulti-faced study, in order to understand the development and evolution of themodern Chinese personal pronouns and also run through the modern Chinesepronouns history,This thesis mainly includes four aspects, namely, the first personal pronoun, thesecond personal pronouns, the third persona pronoun, and other personal pronoun.This thesis uses the qualitative and quantitative analysis method, the combinationof description and analysis, the combination of theory and language data method sothat we can better research on the personal pronouns, analyze its functions, explain itsorigin, investigate the variation of usage, and make some analysis and judgments ofspecial examples. At last, we make a conclusion for our research.
