This paper is one of the sub projects of the National Natural Science Funds (50478004) of Prof. Wang Yongping.The paper mainly studies on great tibetan architect, bridge engineer Tangdongjiebu, and his contributtion to the Tibet society. Tangdongjiebu is widely known as a master of Xiangba Buddhism, he committed to help common people in Tibet when he was very young. The Tibetan people called him "Buddha of iron bridge" in order to compliment him with his contribution to Tibetan water traffic. Tangdongjiebu has built58chain bridges,60wooden bridges and a lot of wooden boats for his entire life, so the local people can have a convenient traffic in such tough environment of Tibet.This paper includes a lot of research and analysis of temples, pagodas and chain bridges which were built by Tangdongjiebu. In order to show this outstanding historical people comprehensively, his life story has also been described.The paper is divided into six chapters. Chapter1is the introduction; Chapter2introduces Tangdongjiebu’s life time and his growth story; Chapter3,4is the deeply research and analysis about temples, pagodas and chain bridges that built by Tangdongjiebu; Chapter5describes contribution to the Tibetan opera by Tangdongjiebu; Chapter6focuses on the versatile Tangdongjiebu.
