Buddhism originated in ancient India, founded by Sakyamuni Buddha, and wasintroduced into China since the eastern han dynasty yongping, where it was inheritedand carried forward. Since the Buddhism was introduced into China, it has penetratedand made a great influence on the Chinese literature, painting, sculpture, music, andother areas of the ideology and culture. In the tang dynasty, Buddhism, traditionalChinese Taoism, and Confucianism were listed as the three ideological system, laidthe foundation of the Chinese traditional culture. This paper aims to interpret ADream of Red Mansions and explore the spirit of Buddhism and profound connotationin it, based on the perspective of religion, from the basic thoughts, opinions andpractice methods of Buddhism. This article is divided into five parts: the first part isthe introduction, introduces the research motivation, the current status of the research,and the research method and characteristics. the second part, gives a in-depthinterpretation of the tathagata, causal, not net, filial piety, life and death, etc in ADream of Red Mansions from the point of color space view. the third part, combinedwith the characters of the novel, analysis which appeared in Zen and the Pure LandBuddhism.The fourth part, parses Buddhism "sweep to the break of board”, analysisA Dream of Red Mansions, digging its connotation. The fifth part, to explore thevalue of the Buddhism of A Dream of Red Mansions. Buddhist spirit has its uniqueinclusive in the field of Confucianism, this kind of spirit can make us percept the life,can wash the soul and get rid of the desire of materialistic, improve people’s spiritualworld and taste. Its empty spirit and not cling to phase, is better than other religions. ADream of Red Mansions, as one of the four classical masterpieces in China, can besaid to be the culmination in the history of the development of novel. It is a blend ofConfucianism, Buddhism and Taoism and knowledge of all aspects of culture.Exploring A Dream of Red Mansion in the spirit of Buddhism, may provide some references for the research on redology or message.
